Fitness blogger attempted Jennifer Lopez’ no sugar, no carb diet plan for 10 days and revealed she was left ‘miserable’ and ‘weak’ from the strict rules.
Toronto-based workout guru Keltie O’Connor decided to try J-Lo‘s extreme diet plan after she received a number of requests from viewers. The 10-day challenge was followed by J-Lo, 49, and fiance Alex Rodriguez, 43, in January at the advice of the singer’s personal trainer.
Keltie decided to give the diet a chance after watching both J-Lo and Alex complete it and reported she was left miserable throughout the entire 10 days.

Priorities: The fitness guru joked with her followers that she was hoping to grow her butt during the 10-day challenge to have one like J-Lo

At the beginning of her video following her 10-day journey, Keltie admitted she had concerns about the strict diet.
‘Your girl likes carbs, though,’ she joked with viewers. ‘J-Lo’s butt is not mine yet. You better make me J-Lo.’
Foods not allowed on the J-Lo 10-day challenge include starchy vegetables, dairy, fruits, grains, sweeteners, soda, alcohols, baked goods, condiments with added sugars, and candy.
Keltie revealed one snack she was constantly reaching for during the 10-day challenge was celery with almond butter slathered on top.
‘It’s just a boat to get the almond butter,’ the workout guru joked about the snack as she revealed it was a pairing of choice for J-Lo when she went on the diet.
‘No one really cares for the celery. It is just an excuse to get to the almond butter.’
On the third day of the diet Keltie revealed she already lost 2lbs.
‘The biggest thing to know when you eliminate carbs and sugar is that glycogen stores binds water to carbs,’ Keltie said while explaining how she lost the weight so quickly.
‘You always have water weight from having full glycogen stores when you have carbs…that is why you can see a significant drop in weight.’
Struggles: Keltie later revealed during the 10 days that she felt weak from the diet because her body was not getting the fuel it needed
Fueling the body: During the 10 days, Keltie consumed a lot of celery with almond butter as a snack to fill her body up. But she admitted to not enjoying the snack as much as J-Lo did
Upset: ‘It’s tough when you are really active,’ Keltie told her followers during the 10 days. ‘This is not good for someone who is active’

But Keltie was not trying to lose weight by going on the 10-day challenge, and she admitted to feeling ‘weak’ because her diet consisted only of protein and vegetables.
‘I am feeling weak this morning, which sucks,’ she admitted during the challenge. ‘[I’m] trying to eat enough calories but it is tough when it is just veggies and protein. I’m drained and I have a headache. I kind of feel hungover.’
Issues arose for Keltie on the diet because she still wanted to live her active lifestyle and participate in workouts. But she was left drained from the lack of calories she was consuming.
‘You have to fuel your body,’ Keltie said. ‘Carbs are important. Your body needs carbs. It’s tough when you are really active. This is not good for someone who is active.’
At the end of the week Keltie revealed she was ‘miserable’ from the diet and happy for it to be over.
Her views of the diet were different from that of J-Lo who admitted she was considering attempting the 10-day challenge again in the near future.
