A young swimming coach accused of raping a young girl and inappropriately touching another child is a private-school boy from Sydney’s north shore.
Kyle Daniels, 20, appeared in Manly Local Court on Wednesday charged with having sexual intercourse with an eight-year-old girl and inappropriately touching another girl, six.
The alleged offences took place during private lessons at the Mosman Swim Centre last month.

Daniels was arrested at his parents’ Balgowlah home on Tuesday after investigation by detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad.
He was charged with two counts of intentionally sexually touching a child under the age of 10 and having sexual intercourse with a child under 10.
Police allege Daniels had sexual intercourse with a girl, 8, on February 14 between 4.30pm and 7.30pm.
It is also alleged that on February 2, Daniels sexually touched a girl, 6, between 2pm and 4pm.
The two alleged victims are sisters.
Daniels’ parents were in court to support their son during his brief mention.

He did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on May 8.
In addition to the charges, police took out an Apprehended Violence Order against Daniels.

Under the order, Daniels is banned from going anywhere near Mosman Swim Centre.
Pictures on his social media account show Daniels was a student at Knox Grammar, and a talented swimmer.

The swim centre suspended his employment before police laid charges.
